Fuse: Music Residency 2027

Fuse is a four‑week residency for classically trained musicians—instrumentalists, singers, and composers—who wish to broaden their artistic practice through collaborative play and interdisciplinary exploration. Hosted by the Banff Centre for Arts & Creativity in Banff, Alberta, the program runs from April 19 to May 8, 2027, and offers 24‑hour studio access, one‑on‑one mentorship, interdisciplinary workshops led by internationally renowned faculty, performance facilities, meals, and a private bedroom in shared housing. Participants are encouraged to create, research, and develop new approaches to their practice in the Centre’s mountain environment, with opportunities to share works in progress and engage with other artistic disciplines at concerts and program events. The residency is open to artists worldwide who are 18 years or older, with no requirement for prior interdisciplinary experience. Applicants must secure a Canadian visitor visa; the Banff Centre does not provide student visas. The application deadline is November 12, 2026, and the application fee is 65 CAD for individuals (35 CAD for Indigenous applicants). The Banff Centre Arts Scholarship covers tuition, accommodation, and meals for eligible participants, reducing the participant cost to 3,026.36 CAD. The residency is a recurring annual program, with a new edition each year.
