About This Opportunity
Spring Writers 2027 is a 12‑day self‑directed residency at the Banff Centre for Arts & Creativity in Banff, Alberta. Participants receive a private studio in historic Vinci Hall, weekly one‑on‑one mentorship with faculty (Heather O’Neill, Stuart Ross, Anakana Schofield), optional faculty talks, public readings, and access to campus facilities such as the library, fitness centre and dining hall. The program is open to writers of any genre who are 18 years or older, have a proven publication record, and can work in English. Applicants must not have participated in a Banff Centre residency in the previous year and must obtain a visitor visa for Canada. The application deadline is 9 December 2026 (11:59 p.m. MST). A non‑refundable application fee of CAD 65 (CAD 35 for Indigenous applicants) is required. Total program fee is CAD 3 820.95, with scholarships (Banff Centre Arts Scholarship, Canadian Indigenous Arts Scholarship) reducing the participant cost. The residency runs from 5 April 2027 to 16 April 2027.
