ART:DIS, in partnership with P7:1SMA, is launching a Dance Residency Open Call for the 2026–2027 cycle. The residency is specifically designed for dance and movement-based artists in Singapore who identify as D/deaf, disabled, or neurodivergent. Applicants must be based in Singapore, have an established dance or movement practice, and be ready to engage in a sustained period of research, experimentation, and collaborative creation. The residency runs from August 2026 to April 2027, offering a dedicated studio space and the opportunity to work alongside fellow artists. Participants will develop new approaches to dance‑making, culminating in a developmental sharing at the Enabling Lives Festival 2026 (end of November) and a final presentation at the Arts & Disability Forum 2027 in April. The application process requires a short artist statement (max 300 words), a brief CV or artist biography, a video (up to 5 minutes) showcasing the artist’s movement practice, and availability for rehearsal days. Applications are submitted via email to azeera@artdis.org.sg. The deadline is 17 July 2026, 11:59pm SGT. No application fee is charged. While the residency does not provide a monetary stipend, it offers a supportive environment, collaborative opportunities, and exposure through festival participation.
