About This Opportunity

The Goethe‑Institut, under the EU‑funded "Partenariats Afrique‑Europe pour la culture: Afrique de l'Ouest" project, has launched a call for candidatures targeting medium‑size festivals across West Africa. Eligible festivals must operate in cinema, audiovisual and animation; literature; music; heritage; visual arts; or performing arts, and be based in one of the 15 listed countries (Benin, Burkina Faso, Cape Verde, Côte d'Ivoire, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea‑Bissau, Liberia, Mali, Niger, Nigeria, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Togo). Seven festivals will be selected and grouped into thematic clusters under the supervision of a larger festival. Each selected organisation can receive a grant of up to €50,000, aimed at strengthening organisational capacity, fostering collaborations and co‑productions, supporting artist and professional mobility, and building partnerships between West African and European festivals. The call invites applications until 20 September 2026 at 22:00 GMT. Interested organisers can register for online information sessions on 28 August and 8 September 2026 and sign in to apply via the provided link.
