The Kentucky African American Heritage Commission (KAAHC) offers an annual grant program to support projects that preserve and interpret important Kentucky African American heritage sites. Eligible applicants must be established 501(c)(3) or non‑profit organizations and must submit a copy of their award letter, a completed W‑9, and a completed grant application. Projects may include research, exhibitions, documentary production, historic restoration, and public programming. Grants can range from $1,000 to $10,000 and may be used to cover artist fees, honorariums, production costs, stage and tent installation, and other project expenses. The deadline for the 2026 grant cycle is September 7, 2026. Successful projects must acknowledge the financial support of the Kentucky African American Heritage Commission and the Kentucky Heritage Council and submit timely progress reports.
