About This Opportunity

The Community Art Grant Program 2026 supports artists in developing temporary public art projects that actively involve community members in the creative process while producing engaging artworks for public display. Administered by the City of Kelowna’s Active Living & Culture Division, the program encourages artists to use their creative practice as a tool for community development, cultural participation, social connection, and neighborhood engagement. Projects are designed to activate public spaces, encourage meaningful interaction between artists and residents, and create opportunities for people to experience arts and culture outside traditional venues. Selected projects will be presented during Culture Days, Canada’s national celebration of arts and culture, providing artists with a platform to showcase community-centered artistic initiatives while contributing to Kelowna’s cultural landscape.

Restrictions

Eligible applicants include professional artists, emerging artists, artist collectives. Applicants must be legally eligible to work in Canada, reside within the Central Okanagan region, demonstrate the ability to manage project finances responsibly, and be capable of obtaining liability insurance.
