City of Kelowna Artist in Residence Program (2026)
City of West Kelowna
About This Opportunity
The City of Kelowna Artist in Residence Program invites individual artists or collectives to develop temporary public artworks that explore the relationship between arts, wellbeing, and public space. The residency lasts 10 weeks, with an approximate commitment of 20 hours per week, and provides CA$12,000 in total funding. The grant covers artist remuneration, supplies, workspace, installation and de‑installation costs. Applicants must demonstrate experience in community engagement and the ability to produce public‑facing work. The program is open to all creative disciplines and encourages interdisciplinary practice. The residency does not provide live‑in accommodation. The selection process evaluates artistic quality, originality, community engagement, and feasibility within the 10‑week timeframe. The deadline for applications is 1 September 2026 (previously noted as 3 August 2026 in some listings).
