About This Opportunity

Created in memory of Paul Lowe, the Paul Lowe Residency provides time, space and professional support for a Ukrainian photographer to edit, sequence, print and further develop an existing visual documentary project for publication and public presentation. The residency runs from 1 November to 30 November 2026 in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina. The resident receives accommodation in a fully furnished apartment, a daily living allowance, access to professional printing facilities, exhibition‑quality materials, one‑to‑one editorial and technical mentoring, and local transportation related to residency activities. International travel and health‑insurance costs are the resident’s responsibility, though the foundation reimburses health‑insurance upon arrival. The program is family‑friendly and encourages professional exchange within The VII Foundation’s international ecosystem. Applicants must be Ukrainian photojournalists aged 18 or older, actively working on documentary or conflict‑related projects in Ukraine, and must have an existing project to develop during the residency.
