Workshop | Plein Air in Powerscourt with Dave West at the Schoolhouse for Art

This four‑day oil painting workshop, running from 3 – 6 August 2026, takes participants into the world‑renowned gardens of Powerscourt Estate in County Wicklow. Led by award‑winning plein‑air artist Dave West, each morning begins with a short studio‑based theory session and practical demonstration covering subject choice, composition, colour theory and the essentials of painting outdoors. Afterward, participants move to the gardens for a full day of painting with one‑to‑one support from Dave. The workshop is designed for artists who already have a basic understanding of oils and are looking to deepen their plein‑air skills; it is not suitable for complete beginners. Materials such as oil paints, brushes, panels and a portable easel are required. Payment plans are available on request. The workshop is hosted by the Schoolhouse for Art in Enniskerry, Co. Wicklow.
