Artist Request for Qualifications: Library Children and Teen Spaces
City of Bellingham
About This Opportunity
The City of Bellingham’s Percent for Arts program invites artists to submit a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) for the design, fabrication, and installation of interior artwork in the library’s children and teen spaces. The library renovation is part of the phase 2 expansion of the central library at 210 Central Avenue. Artists or teams must demonstrate experience in designing, fabricating, and installing public art installations, particularly in interior settings. The deadline for submissions is September 18, 2026, at noon Pacific Time. Applicants should review the RFQ PDF for detailed project specifications, design criteria, and budget guidelines. The application process includes an online submission portal where artists can upload required documents and a portfolio. The City will review qualifications and select artists for the project, with funding provided through the Percent for Arts program. The selected artist(s) will receive a commission to create and install artwork that enhances the library’s environment for children and teens.
