Open Call for Palestinian artists in Helsinki (Finland) – Spring 2027
HIAP – Helsinki International Artist Programme
About This Opportunity
HIAP Helsinki International Artist Programme (HIAP) together with the Palestinian cultural organisation Sumud announce an open call for Palestinian contemporary artists, based in Palestine or of Palestinian descent, to apply for a three‑month residency in Helsinki during Spring 2027 (12 April – 11 July 2027). The residency provides a 63 m² live‑work studio at the Cable Factory, one round‑trip travel allowance, a working grant of €3 600, 24/7 access to HIAP’s community facilities, equipment borrowing, and participation in communal activities. Visa support and a small accessibility budget are also offered. Applications are accepted in written, audio or video format via an online form and must be submitted by 2 November 2026 (15:00 GMT+2). The call is open to professional Palestinian artists of any discipline; families and collectives may apply, though no extra budget is allocated for collectives. The residency does not require a final exhibition, but an exhibition proposal may be developed for future presentation. The program is part of the Ukraine Solidarity Residency Programme and is funded by the Finnish Ministry of Education and Culture.
