About This Opportunity

Liminal Archive 2026 is an experimental festival for moving images that explores the edge of memory, reality, and Asian political histories. The festival will take place in Autumn in Tokyo, Japan, and includes a programme of screenings, talks and workshops. The call invites short or feature‑length experimental works that expand the boundaries of non‑fiction filmmaking, as well as artist‑film series or ongoing projects. Submissions are open to individual artists and collectives worldwide. Selected works will be offered screening opportunities at the festival, inclusion in the programme’s talks and workshops, and potential exhibition in related events. The submission deadline is 15 September 2026 (midnight Tokyo time). No application fee is required.
