About This Opportunity
The Leighton Artist Studio Residency: Photography is a competitive, self‑directed residency for individual creative professionals. Residents spend 2 to 6 weeks (minimum 2 weeks, maximum 6 weeks) in the Crich Photography Studio at the Banff Centre, with a private black‑and‑white darkroom, digital photography setup, and mountain views. The program runs from April 5 2027 to March 31 2028, with multiple date ranges to choose from. Participants receive a single bedroom, meal plan credit, library access, and use of campus facilities such as fitness centre and performance venues. Applicants must be 18+, have a demonstrated record of accomplishment, proven analogue darkroom experience, and must not have participated in a Leighton Studio residency in the past three years. The application deadline is 14 October 2026 (11:59 p.m. MST).
