About This Opportunity

The Museum of Human Achievement (MoHA) in Austin, TX is launching the 2026 group exhibition “In the Zone”. Artists are invited to submit works that engage with gambling, games of chance, prediction markets, day‑trading, NFTs, crypto scams, or related financial systems, provided the works can be gambled on using the museum’s fictional “Human Dollars”. Submissions may be new works or existing pieces adapted with a gambling mechanism. The exhibition will run from November 14‑22, 2026, coinciding with the Austin Studio Tour, with installation beginning November 6. Artists receive a stipend of $800 USD for new works or $150‑$250 USD for existing works, plus installation and docent support, internet access, and basic display equipment. Applications are free, open from October 2 to October 15, 2026, and are submitted via a Google Forms application. Ethical guidelines prohibit the use of real currency, cryptocurrency, NFTs, micro‑transactions, or AI tools that could cause harm. The museum will provide “Human Dollars” for audience interaction.
