About This Opportunity

Torus Research LLC, a legal team located in the Seattle/Tacoma area, is hiring a documentary filmmaker or a small production team to produce a short documentary (approximately 10 to 20 minutes) for use in a judicial proceeding. The project will combine newly recorded sit‑down interviews with archival footage and photographs already gathered by the team. Torus Research will provide story direction, while the filmmaker is responsible for shooting, sound, and editing. The contract is paid and funded through government funds. Applicants must submit a CV, links to one to three examples of their work, and a brief statement of interest. No prior legal experience is required, but candidates must be able to handle serious, heavy material with honesty and care. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis, and selected candidates will be invited to a Zoom interview. The opportunity is open to individuals or small teams, with no stated nationality restrictions.
