Call for Artists: MTA Arts & Design - Long Island Rail Road Permanent Art Opportunity in Queens

MTA Arts & Design (A&D) seeks images of artists’ previous work for consideration in upcoming public‑art opportunities related to ADA accessibility upgrades at the Long Island Rail Road stations Bellerose and Floral Park in Nassau County, New York. Submissions may be in any medium; prior experience with mosaic or metal is not required. Up to 20 images, a bio, CV, and a brief artist statement must be uploaded. A selection panel will choose two finalists (one per station) who will receive site specifications and an honorarium of $1,250. One artist per station will be commissioned to develop a site‑specific artwork, with the budget for design and fabrication to be determined. The commission includes artist fee, fabrication oversight, and project management by MTA Arts & Design. Deadline is 11:59 pm EST on Friday, November 20, 2026. Applications are free.
