Latvian Academy of Music and Theatre
About This Opportunity
The Latvian Academy of Music and Theatre (LKA) is calling for proposals for the Baltic Drama Forum Conference 2026, scheduled to take place in Riga, Latvia, from 5–7 November 2026. The conference seeks to explore the evolving relationships between academic research in the arts and artistic research, encouraging submissions that address topics such as artistic research methodologies, the researcher’s profile in contemporary art academia, liminal practices, performance, music, inter‑art perspectives, and doctoral studies. Submissions may take the form of individual papers (20 min), short lecture‑recitals, commented performances, or dialogues between artists and scholars. The conference welcomes proposals from researchers, artists, and artists‑researchers from the Baltic region and beyond. Proposals should include a title, an abstract (200–300 words), a short biography (150 words), and an indication of the preferred format. The deadline for submissions is 20 September 2026, with notifications of acceptance by 1 October 2026. The event will provide a platform for presenting work, networking with scholars and artists, and engaging in interdisciplinary dialogue.
