CALL FOR APPLICATIONS: MEDIATHON FOR CREATIVE YOUTH (Baltic Mediathon 2025)

The Baltic Mediathon 2025 invites young creators aged 18‑23 from Latvia, Lithuania, and Estonia to participate in a one‑day media hackathon in Riga. Selected participants will receive expert‑led training on critical thinking, fact‑checking, mobile journalism and social‑media marketing on 18 January 2025 in their home country newsrooms, followed by a paid trip to Riga on 1 February 2025 to develop and present impactful social‑media content concepts at the Kalnciema kvartāls. Teams will compete for prizes, including a brand‑new Apple iPad 10.9" with Apple Pencil, and all participants receive additional rewards. The project is part of the Baltic Engagement Centre for Combating Information Disorders (BECID) and is organized by the Baltic Centre for Media Excellence (BCME) together with DELFI, Tartu University and Re:Baltica.
