About This Opportunity

The Dallas Museum of Art (DMA) is hiring for the Pauline Gill Sullivan Curator of American Art position, which may be filled at the Assistant, Associate, or Curator level depending on experience. The role oversees the museum’s American and Texas art collections (paintings, sculpture, graphic arts pre‑1945), directing research, acquisitions, exhibitions, publications, and public programming. Responsibilities include developing collection strategies, organizing installations and temporary shows, managing travelling exhibitions, fundraising, and supervising staff and interns. Candidates must hold an M.A. in Art History or a related field (Ph.D. preferred) and possess 1‑5+ years of curatorial experience aligned with the level applied for, along with fundraising and management experience. The position is full‑time, exempt, with salary commensurate with experience and full museum benefits.
