About This Opportunity

The 2027 Robin Nance Metz Art Competition (RNMAC), formerly known as the Adult Juried Art Exhibit, is a statewide competition organized by the Shelby County Arts Council (SCAC) and its partners. The competition invites Alabama residents aged 18 and older to submit original works across a wide range of media, including drawing, painting, photography, sculpture, printmaking, fine art crafts, fiber arts, and digital art. Each participant may submit up to two works, but only one entry form per person is allowed. The competition is juried, and entries that have previously appeared in SCAC juried exhibitions are ineligible. A non‑refundable submission fee of $45 is required. The competition culminates in an exhibition held at the EBSCO Fine Art Gallery in Columbiana, Alabama, with the opening on January 18, 2027, and a closing reception and awards ceremony on February 28, 2027. Winners receive monetary prizes: $750 for Best in Show and $250 for the best work in each media category. The event provides artists with a platform to showcase their work to a broad audience and offers recognition through the SCAC’s network. Applications are accepted online through the SCAC website, and the deadline for submissions is November 27, 2026.
