Under the direct supervision of the program manager, the program officer: Manages the delivery of grants or funds to individual artists, arts groups, and/or arts organizations in accordance with established policies and procedures, including equity policies and priorities. Responds to inquiries from applicants and delivers program information through outreach activities. Assesses the eligibility of applicants and applications and follows up as needed. Chairs or participates in working groups and committees. Provides assessments in internal committees. Chairs assessment committees. Provides information and impartial commentary during peer assessment committee meetings. contributes to advancing program outcomes, the Council’s strategic direction and the development of Council policies. Sustains relationships in the arts communities and shares knowledge of artistic practices. Reviews applicant profiles and grant applications. provides financial and organizational analysis. Proposes assessment committee makeup. Makes recommendations for grant recipients and amounts. Represents the Council at various events. Contributes to the ongoing improvement of programs and processes. Validates reporting data. Works to ensure access for professional Canadian artists and arts organizations to Council programs and services. Performs other related duties.

Restrictions

An undergraduate degree or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience related to the key responsibilities of the position. Five (5) years of experience directly related to the principal responsibilities of the position, which include: managing client and stakeholder relations. managing committees or equivalent facilitation experience. program delivery or project management. Experience in the arts, culture or creative industries sectors would be an asset.
