City of Goleta
关于此机会
The City of Goleta’s Creek Week Art Contest invites residents and visitors to create original artwork inspired by the local creeks, oceans, and watersheds. The theme for 2026 is "Story Beneath the Surface: Art Inspired by Our Creeks, Oceans, and Watersheds." Participants may use any medium—painting, drawing, photography, collage, etc.—and must submit a single piece no larger than 42 inches. Submissions are accepted in person at the Goleta Community Center on specified dates and must be received by 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 2. All ages are welcome, with entries categorized into Adults (18+), Teens (7–12), and Children (6 and below). Artwork will be judged on relevance, appearance, and originality, and winners receive ribbons (1st, 2nd, 3rd place and Honorable Mention) in each category. Selected works will be displayed publicly at the Community Center from September 11–30 and at the Creek Week Art Reception on September 25, where artists can share a short paragraph about their inspiration. The contest is part of the annual Creek Week celebration and is open to all skill levels, making it a community‑focused event that highlights local environmental stewardship through art.
