关于此机会
Design Baltimore: Gateways is a city‑wide open competition launched by the City of Baltimore and administered by the Baltimore Development Corporation. The brief calls for architects, designers, artists, engineers, planners, students, and multidisciplinary creative teams to develop visionary concepts for three major traffic corridors that serve as the city’s primary entrances: the I‑295/I‑95 Russell Street corridor, the I‑395/I‑95 Conway Street corridor, and the I‑83/President Street corridor. Participants submit design proposals that blend public art, urban design, and infrastructure to create welcoming, iconic gateways for millions of residents and visitors. The competition offers a $450,000 prize pool, including $25,000 stipends for twelve finalist teams to develop their concepts and an additional $50,000 award for the winning team in each corridor. Submissions are due by August 23, 2026 at 11:59 PM EDT, with jury review slated for September 17, 2026. Selected projects may be realized as permanent installations, providing significant public exposure and the opportunity to shape Baltimore’s civic identity. The initiative is supported by a coalition of city departments, local partners, and cultural organizations, emphasizing community engagement and interdisciplinary collaboration.
