UNFOLD Residency – Encinitas
UNFOLD PROJECTS
About This Opportunity
The UNFOLD Residency, an extension of UNFOLD PROJECTS, supports artists working with natural, bio‑based or repurposed materials, traditional or indigenous craft, and practices fostering human connection. Each year two residents are hosted at the Encinitas location for a two‑week to one‑month stay in a transformed Artist Flat, receiving a stipend, studio space, and opportunities to engage with the local community. The program prioritises applications from women, transgender, non‑binary, gender‑marginalised artists, Black, Indigenous, artists of colour, and low‑income artists, while remaining open to creators across disciplines. Applications for the Winter 2027 cycle are open until 1 November 2026. Selected residents benefit from housing, a modest stipend, mentorship, and a supportive environment aimed at creative regeneration and planetary care.
