About This Opportunity

ATLAS Arts offers the Tobar an Dualchais Residency, an annual programme that provides a fee and production budget to visual and sound artists interested in oral history, archives and sound. The residency encourages artists to engage with Scotland’s largest online collection of sound recordings, fostering critical and imaginative responses to Gaelic culture and heritage. Participants receive financial support for research, studio space and mentorship, and are encouraged to develop work that connects with the archive’s material. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis for each edition, with no fixed deadline disclosed on the website. The residency is based on the Isle of Skye, Scotland, and is supported by Creative Scotland’s Gaelic Targeted fund.
