This Memory: Textiles Competition
The Responsa Foundation
About This Opportunity
The Responsa Foundation is seeking textile artists to contribute to “This Memory”, a group exhibition that will run from 22 September to 3 October 2027 at the Peggy Jay Gallery, Burgh House in Hampstead, London. The call welcomes works in any textile medium— weaving, embroidery, soft sculpture, quilting, tapestry, fibre art, mixed media, or other fabric‑based practices—whether newly created or previously made. Artists must submit a single artwork together with a brief written response (up to 50 words) that explains the personal or narrative connection to memory. Submissions are to be presented as high‑resolution digital files (300 dpi, 5–10 MB, up to A2 size). The selection will be made by a mixed panel from the Responsa Foundation team, and chosen works will be professionally printed, framed, and displayed in the exhibition. No application fee is required, and the call is open to artists worldwide, though AI‑generated works are excluded. The exhibition offers public exposure in a historic Grade I listed venue and promotion via the foundation’s Instagram hashtag #ResponsaThisMemory.
