THE SILENT CUT: OPEN CALL JURIED EXHIBITION
Culturalyst New Orleans
About This Opportunity
THE SILENT CUT: OPEN CALL JURIED EXHIBITION invites artists from across the United States to submit 2‑dimensional works that interrogate the language of cinema within still images. The call encourages pieces that capture moments before or after action, use sequencing to alter meaning, or manipulate time through repetition, looping, or compression. While photography is emphasized, all media that can be framed and displayed as a 2‑dimensional work are welcome. Submissions must be 60 inches maximum in height and width, framed with wire or D‑rings, and remain available for the entire duration of the show. Works may not be sold prior to the exhibition, and all pieces will be listed for sale; any sales during the show will be split 50 / 50 with the gallery. Selected artists will be exhibited at Fort Works Art in Fort Worth during the Lone Star Film Festival, with an opening reception and opportunities for audience engagement. The jury will announce winners via social media and contact artists directly with drop‑off and shipping details. The exhibition offers a platform for contemporary artists to explore the intersection of filmic narrative and visual art, fostering dialogue between disciplines.
