About This Opportunity

The Foundry is a non‑profit residency located in the rural valley of Bravos, Galicia, Spain. It occupies historic fort and ironworks buildings that have been renovated into a creative hub. The residency offers open programs year‑round, allowing artists to work on their own projects or contribute to community events. Facilities include studio space for visual arts, music, metalwork, clay, and other media; 12 bedrooms (mostly doubles), six bathrooms, a professional kitchen, large rooms, and a field for tents. Guests have access to Wi‑Fi, a car, a bike, and nearby groceries in Viveiro.

Artists can join as paying members (20 € per year), volunteers (first four weeks paid, then work‑exchange), or invited guests (free, up to one month). Membership grants participation in events and governance. The residency emphasizes self‑sufficiency and sustainability, with no staff and a shared‑cooking system.

There is no formal application procedure; interested artists simply email foundry@bravosfoundry.com or fill out the membership form to discuss availability. The residency is open to all artists, with no explicit age or nationality restrictions. It provides accommodation, studio space, and a collaborative community, making it an attractive option for artists seeking a flexible, low‑cost residency experience.
