About This Opportunity

Artists are invited to submit proposals by 4 January 2027 to represent Estonia at the 62nd Venice Biennale in 2028. The Estonian Centre for Contemporary Art (EAA) will select a single artist through an international jury. The proposal should be no more than 6000 characters and include an overview of the artist’s vision, main directions, working methods, and motivation for creating an exhibition at the Estonian Pavilion. Applicants must also submit a portfolio (or website) and a CV covering the last five years. The call is open to physical persons who are Estonian or working in Estonia. All materials must be submitted in English. The selected artist will develop an exhibition project based on the proposal, in collaboration with the EAA, and will receive a fee of €10,000 for the development of the project. The space for the pavilion will be chosen together with the artist, taking into account the needs and budget of the project. The application deadline is 4 January 2027. The EAA will announce the jury composition in 2026 and will contact shortlisted candidates for a longer discussion before making the final selection.
