Temporary Home 2027 – Design Residency (BASE Milano & British Council)
BASE Milano
About This Opportunity
BASE Milano, in collaboration with the British Council, invites emerging designers practising in the United Kingdom or Malaysia to apply for the Temporary Home 2027 design residency. The programme consists of two phases: a one‑week research and development residency scheduled between December 2026 and February 2027, followed by a public showcase during Milan Design Week (12–18 April 2027). Selected designers receive a dedicated project budget (€5,100 for UK‑based designers, €6,000 for Malaysia‑based designers) covering project fees, per diems, materials, travel costs, and accommodation in a private room at casaBASE. Additional support includes curatorial mentorship, technical assistance, a dedicated exhibition space, and communication visibility across BASE Milano and Temporary Home channels. The call is open to all design disciplines, ages, and backgrounds, with eligibility based on having an active design practice located in the UK or Malaysia. Applications close on 27 November 2026.
