runningafter is developing an original comedy-drama radio play set around a fictional pirate radio station on the Irish border. They are seeking sound designers and music producers/composers to help build the sonic world of the piece, creating elements such as fake dance tracks, dodgy jingles, station IDs, interference, and dedications. The project aims to explore nuanced themes of growing up in rural Ireland, including illegal broadcasting, local callers, rural myth, gossip, loneliness, performance, and the need to be heard. The aim is to produce seven episodes, starting with a pilot. This is an unpaid collaborative development opportunity; any future release, credits, ownership, or next steps will be agreed upon with collaborators before anything goes public. The call is suited to composers and sound artists drawn to character-led, DIY, rough-around-the-edges audio work. To apply, interested artists should email with a short introduction and details of what they do.
