About This Opportunity

The Somerset County Arts Council (SCAC) annually awards Individual Artist Grants to support talented artists living and working in Somerset County, Maryland. Grants of up to $1,000 are provided to help artists create, present, or promote their work. Eligible applicants must be Maryland residents, at least 18 years old, and have a documented history of producing original artwork. Projects must be completed within the grant period; completed projects are not considered. Performance projects must be open to the public and accessible to persons with disabilities. Recipients are required to provide four complimentary tickets for any performance, acknowledge SCAC and the Maryland State Arts Council in all promotional materials, and submit a final report with photographs and documentation within 30 days of project completion. If a project is cancelled or rescheduled outside the grant period, the grant must be returned and a new application submitted. Applications are free and submitted via the online application form. The grant is a cash award; no housing or travel support is provided. The program is open on a rolling basis, with applications accepted year‑round.
