SOMA Exhibition Open Call: Somatic Memory
ATHICA – Athens Institute for Contemporary Art
About This Opportunity
SOMA is an exhibition led by ATHICA interns Ash Anderson and Delta Williams that investigates the theme of somatic memory – how the body stores experiences as emotion and physicality. The call invites artists to submit up to three contemporary works in any visual medium, created within the last three years, for a $10 entry fee per work. Submissions are accepted until November 20, 2026 (11:59 PM EST). Selected works will be exhibited at ATHICA in Athens, Georgia from December 12, 2026 to January 10, 2027. Artists are responsible for shipping their works to and from the gallery; shipping costs should be included in the delivery container. No reproductions or works previously shown at ATHICA will be considered, and all pieces must be ready to hang. Exhibiting artists will be featured in the exhibition guide and have the opportunity to sell their works, with a request to donate 30 % of sales back to ATHICA. The exhibition offers exposure within the vibrant Athens arts community and contributes to the non‑profit, volunteer‑run organization’s programming.
