SCULPTURE SPACE NYC RESIDENCY PROGRAM FOR CERAMIC ARTISTS: OPEN CALL
Sculpture Space NYC-Center For Ceramic Arts
About This Opportunity
The SSNYC‑CCA Artist‑in‑Residence program invites ceramic artists to a 10‑week residency in New York City, running from October 19 to December 19, 2026. Participants receive full access to a communal studio, including 24‑hour availability, and are provided with up to $2,000 in firing credits, 100 lbs of clay, and a selection of cone 6 and cone 10 glazes. The residency is designed for artists who are at a stage where intensive, focused work will advance their practice. Applicants must be 21 years or older, not enrolled in a degree‑seeking program, and not engaged in another residency during the term. A minimum commitment of 15 hours per week is required, along with basic ceramic experience and the ability to work independently. Selection is by an open application and review process led by a committee and guest panelists. Selected artists will be notified by the end of September 2026 and must attend a one‑hour orientation before the residency begins. The program emphasizes community, collaboration, and the development of new projects, offering artists the time and resources to deepen their craft in a supportive environment.
