Saxony-Anhalt Art Foundation Working Grants for Individual Artists (Germany)

The Saxony-Anhalt Art Foundation (Kunststiftung des Landes Sachsen-Anhalt) offers Working Grants that provide freelance artists with dedicated financial support to develop new artistic projects and focus on their creative practice. Successful recipients receive €1,500 per month for a standard funding period of three or six months, with the possibility of extending the grant up to a maximum of twelve months through a new application. The funding can be used for work carried out in Germany or abroad. The programme supports a broad range of disciplines, including fine arts, applied arts, artistic photography, performing arts, literature, music, film, design, architecture, media art and interdisciplinary fields. Eligible applicants are freelance artists or self‑employed creative professionals whose primary income is artistic work and who generally reside in Saxony‑Anhalt. School pupils, university students, individuals in vocational training, and applicants already receiving funding from other institutions during the grant period are not eligible. Applications are evaluated on originality, artistic quality, innovation, feasibility, potential impact and relevance to the foundation’s objectives. The current call’s deadline is 9 November 2026. Applications are submitted through the foundation’s online portal.
