Quartieri di Vita theatre festival (Naples) is looking for a creator/director

The Quartieri di Vita theatre festival, an annual social‑theatre event in Naples, is calling for a Flemish creator/director to design and facilitate a two‑week workshop with vulnerable groups in the Campania region. The selected artist will work closely with an Italian director and an identified group of participants (e.g., young people at risk, women victims of violence, migrants, people with disabilities, or those with mental health challenges). The workshop runs from 19 to 29 November 2026, with daily sessions of 4–6 hours, culminating in short performance sessions on 27–30 November. Applicants must be active in the Flemish art scene, have a socially engaged practice, and possess demonstrable experience with participatory work involving vulnerable populations. English proficiency is required; Italian is optional. The role includes travel and accommodation covered by the Diplomatic Mission, a per diem of €50 per day, an artistic fee of €1,300 for the two‑week period, and an interpreter to facilitate communication. Applications (cover letter in English, CV, and a brief proposal) must be submitted by 2 October 2026. The festival is part of the Quartieri di Vita series, supported by the Campania Region and the Fondazione Campania dei Festival, and is held annually during the Christmas period.
