CHAVÓN School of Design
About This Opportunity
The Artist-in-Residence (AIR) Program at CHAVÓN School of Design invites visual artists, writers, ceramicists, photographers, architects, musicians, and allied creative professionals to live and work in the Altos de Chavón cultural village in La Romana, Dominican Republic. The residency offers flexible cycles of 30, 45, 90, or 120 days, providing a fully furnished private apartment, a dedicated studio space, and full access to the school’s library, labs, workshops, and classrooms. Participants also receive round‑trip airport transportation, weekly shopping trips to La Romana, and access to Casa de Campo resort amenities. During their stay, artists engage with fellow residents, deliver public lectures and workshops, and interact with the local community, enriching both the creative ecosystem of Altos de Chavón and the broader educational mission of the school.
