Contemporary Music Fund Development Program

The Contemporary Music Fund (CMF) Development Program, administered by the Department of Creative Industries, Sport and Regional Australia (Western Australia), provides up to AUD 20,000 to support career‑change opportunities for individual musicians, bands, groups and music industry professionals. Funding can be used for professional development, regional, national and international touring, showcasing, recording and promotional activities. The program runs twice per year; the next round opens on 5 January 2027 and closes on 3 June 2027. Applications are submitted via the Online Grants web portal and are free of charge. Eligibility is open to individuals, groups and community organisations, with priority given to Aboriginal, regional, cultural and gender‑diverse applicants. No accommodation or travel support is explicitly offered.
