Pro Helvetia Research Trip to South Asia and Vietnam
Pro Helvetia - Swiss Arts Council
About This Opportunity
The Pro Helvetia Research Trip offers Swiss cultural practitioners, including individual artists and duos, a fully funded research stay of two to four weeks in a selected South Asian country or Vietnam. The programme supports artistic research, professional networking, and cultural exchange, providing travel costs, accommodation, daily allowances, and mentorship from a local cultural coach. Applicants with childcare responsibilities may receive up to CHF 1,000 per month to cover childcare or related travel expenses. The call is open year‑round, with decisions communicated within eight weeks and projects expected to start three months after submission. Eligibility requires a clear connection to Switzerland (citizenship or permanent residency), activity in any discipline supported by Pro Helvetia, and a research proposal that demonstrates professional interest in the destination and potential for future artistic development. Applications must be submitted in English and include a project title, brief description, motivation statement, desired length of stay and destination, CV, and portfolio. The grant does not cover production of finished works but focuses on exploratory research and networking. Pro Helvetia does not guarantee visa approval; applicants are responsible for travel documentation. The programme aims to foster long‑term artistic collaborations and strengthen cultural dialogue between Switzerland and South Asia.
