EGU’s Artist in Residence programme invites science‑artists to create new works during the 2027 General Assembly in Vienna, Austria (4‑9 April 2027). The residency offers a week‑long stay at the Austria Center Vienna, with a custom booth and access to the conference’s high‑traffic areas. Selected artists receive financial support covering travel (up to €1,000), accommodation (up to €900), a €700 stipend for materials, and free registration to the General Assembly. They also receive food (breakfast, lunch, beverages) and the opportunity to present an abstract and run a short course or pop‑up event. Applicants must be science‑artists—scientists who also create art, or artists with experience engaging with science—who can produce a new work during the meeting that interacts with the research presented. The application is free and must include a proposal, cost estimates, a CV, and a short description of previous experience. The deadline is 28 October 2026, with selection announced by the end of November. The residency is open to all disciplines, with a particular focus on Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) themes. The EGU reserves the right to use the artworks under a Creative Commons Attribution‑NonCommercial‑ShareAlike licence.
