About This Opportunity

The Postdoctoral Fellow (Level 8) will undertake independent and collaborative research within the UNSW Cities Institute as part of an Australian Research Council Linkage project. The role focuses on the intersections between Indigenous planning, land use and development, requiring close engagement with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander partners and adherence to the AIATSIS Code of Ethics. Applicants must hold a PhD in a relevant discipline (e.g., geography, planning, law) and have extensive experience working with Indigenous communities. The fixed‑term contract runs from January 2027 to March 2029 (negotiable). Remuneration is Level 8 ($133,065‑$156,864) plus 17% superannuation and leave loading, with benefits including flexible working, cultural leave, and access to the Indigenous Employee Network.
