Portland Winter Light Festival 2027 Call for Participation
Nightlab
About This Opportunity
The Portland Winter Light Festival (PDXWLF) is a city‑wide celebration of light that invites artists and performers to create pop‑up installations in public spaces, parks, and storefronts across Portland and the Central City. The 2027 edition runs February 5–13, 2027, with anchor sites at the World Trade Center, Pioneer Courthouse Square, and the Electric Blocks. The festival is organized by the nonprofit Nightlab, formerly Willamette Light Brigade, and is free, family‑friendly, and open to all. Artists are invited to submit proposals for light‑based art installations that illuminate windows, storefronts, and public spaces. While the formal deadline has passed, the festival is still accepting late submissions for certain categories, with acceptance letters sent out on a rolling basis between October 19–30, 2026. Selected artists will receive exhibition space in public venues, support from festival organizers, and exposure to a large audience of approximately 262,000 visitors. The festival does not provide a monetary prize or stipend, but offers significant visibility and community engagement opportunities.
