Open Call for Submissions for a Special Issue on “Methods Unbound: Creative Approaches in Critical Data Studies”

The Culture Unbound journal invites submissions for a special issue titled “Methods Unbound: Creative Approaches in Critical Data Studies”. The issue seeks works that treat method as an object of inquiry, encouraging artistic and practice‑based research that interrogates datafication, speculative design, critical making, and related fields. Eligible contributions include critical data visualisations, mapping, interface interventions, counter‑archival methods, speculative fiction, performative pieces, and other experimental formats. Submissions may be full‑length peer‑reviewed articles or shorter experimental contributions such as methods notes, visual essays, interviews, dossiers, or conceptual interventions. Abstracts (max 300 words) and a brief biographical note (max 75 words) must be submitted by 15 October 2026. Selected authors will be invited to submit full papers, which will undergo double‑blind peer review. The journal offers publication in a peer‑reviewed, diamond open‑access venue, providing academic visibility and dissemination of the work.
