Open Call: Exploring the Gut–Immune–Brain Axis, Nutrition, and Mental Health
John Hansard Gallery
About This Opportunity
The John Hansard Gallery in Southampton invites artists to engage with the emerging scientific discourse on the gut–immune–brain axis. This open call encourages creative explorations that interrogate how dietary habits, immune responses, and neurological processes intersect to shape mental health. Artists are invited to submit proposals, artworks, or performance concepts that reflect interdisciplinary research, personal narratives, or speculative futures. The call is open to all artists, regardless of medium, and aims to foster dialogue between art and science communities. Submissions should be accompanied by a brief artist statement and portfolio samples. The selected works will be exhibited at the gallery during the 2026–2027 season, with opportunities for public talks and collaborative workshops. Further details, including application deadlines, fees, and prize information, will be announced on the gallery’s website.
