About This Opportunity

La Manchoza Art Residency invites artists and writers to apply for its 2027 "Living with the Land" residency. The program offers a solitary, off‑grid environment where a single resident receives full access to accommodation, studio spaces, a ceramic kiln, woodworking tools, bronze‑casting collaborations, and the possibility of arranging private workshops. Residents can work across disciplines—including sculpture, installation, ceramics, painting, drawing, writing, research, and more—while engaging with local craftspeople and the surrounding landscape. Applications are evaluated on artistic quality, project relevance to the theme, and feasibility. The residency length is flexible between 4 and 12 weeks, with seasonal options from winter to summer. The deadline for applications is 30 September 2026 (11:59 PM Central Mexico Time). Selected artists will be notified in October, confirm acceptance by 21 October, and schedule their stay for the period November 2026 to June 2027. Applications are submitted via email using a provided template.
