Native American Arts Collaboration Committee Mini-Grant
Black Hills Community Theatre
About This Opportunity
Black Hills Community Theatre (BHCT) in Rapid City, South Dakota, is forming a Native American Arts Collaboration Committee to foster greater visibility and collaboration for Indigenous artistic expression. As part of the committee’s work, BHCT runs a Mini‑Grant program that provides up to $300 in financial support together with administrative, marketing, technical, and rehearsal‑space assistance for performance‑based projects led by Native American artists. Eligible applicants are artists from any tribal nation or background who propose a project that aligns with BHCT’s mission of community‑focused entertainment and education. Projects may range from one‑off performances to workshops or initiatives that complement existing BHCT programming such as Summer Camp or Summer Stage. Grants are awarded for projects scheduled for January‑June 2027 (applications due by 15 November 2026) and for August‑December 2027 (applications open in spring 2027). Applicants can apply via an online Google Form, download a PDF application, or email the Artistic Director. The grant may cover honorariums, travel expenses, and provides access to performance and rehearsal spaces, as well as marketing and technical support. This opportunity is open to all Native American artists and is intended to reduce production costs and increase community engagement.
