About This Opportunity

The SU‑CASA (Senior Center Arts) program, administered by the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council (LMCC), supports individual artists and small collectives (max two members) to design and deliver participatory arts programming for older adults in senior centers throughout the five boroughs of New York City. For the 2027 edition, LMCC will fund up to 30 residencies in Manhattan. Selected artists receive a $6,000 stipend, an additional $2,000 materials/supplies budget, and access to Materials for the Arts resources. Projects run from March to June 30, 2027, requiring at least 20 contact hours with participants and a culminating public program open to the surrounding community. Applicants must be 18 or older, reside or maintain a workspace in Manhattan, not be full‑time students, and may not apply on behalf of a for‑profit or non‑profit organization. Applications are submitted via Submittable and must include a lesson plan, work samples, and proof of Manhattan residency. The deadline is November 12, 2026, 6 pm EST. No housing is provided; transportation for participants is covered at no cost, but artists are expected to work on‑site at the senior center.
