Living Poets Project – A Poet Laureate Program
Mayor's Office of Arts and Culture, City of Boston
About This Opportunity
The Mayor's Office of Arts and Culture (MOAC), in partnership with Boston Poet Laureate Emmanuel Oppong‑Yeboah and Boston Public Schools Library Services, invites Boston‑area poets and teaching artists to apply for the Living Poets Project. The program funds short‑term, project‑based contracts (up to seven activations) that bring poetry to Boston public‑school classrooms between February and June 2026. Selected poets will receive a $700 honorarium per project, will facilitate readings, workshops, or other interactive literary activities, and will be responsible for their own transportation and invoicing. Applications are reviewed by a panel of literary professionals and the Mayor’s Office of Arts and Culture.
