About This Opportunity
Literature Ireland and the Trinity Centre for Literary and Cultural Translation invite applications for a Literary Translator in Residence in Dublin for the Autumn 2026 edition. The residency runs from 1 October to 30 November 2026 and is designed for translators who are currently working on a translation of a contemporary Irish writer from Irish or English into Dutch or Flemish. Applicants should ideally have a contract with a publisher and be able to provide a sample of their translation-in-progress. The selected candidate will work on their translation project, immerse themselves in Dublin’s literary and cultural life, contribute to activities in the MPhil in Literary Translation at Trinity, and host a public event near the end of their stay. Literature Ireland will cover travel, accommodation on campus at Trinity College Dublin, and living expenses. Applications are submitted by email to translate@literatureireland.com by midday on Monday 31 August 2026. The selected candidate will be notified by Friday 4 September 2026.
