About This Opportunity

Le Maupas A.I.R. (Le Maupas A.R.) is a ceramic art and design centre and artists residency situated in the small village of Le Maupas, Sussey, in the Côte d’Or region of Burgundy, France. The residency offers two tracks: an individual residency focused on research and development, and a project‑based residency that allows artists to tap into the technical expertise of the resident counsellor. Both tracks provide access to a 100 m² ceramics studio, a 60 m² designer studio, a daylight studio, a glaze laboratory, and a range of kilns (electric and gas) and other fabrication tools. Accommodation is available in the adjacent relais, which includes guest rooms, a shared kitchen, and internet access. The residency is open to professional artists in ceramics and related disciplines; there are no formal requirements, and applicants are encouraged to secure their own funding. The contribution paid by the artist is a minimum of €300 per week, covering studio and material costs, with technical assistance priced at €45 per hour. The residency runs from April 1 to October 31 each year, with a flexible duration of 1 to 6 months depending on the proposal. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis, and the deadline is “on request.”
